«The Last Coat of Pink», dedicated to the music of Pink Floyd, was recorded in 2020 and released by Caligola in 2021 as the debut album of this unusual acoustic trio. In 2023 it was followed by «Water's Break», a reinterpretation of selected songs by Björk. Both albums are available in digital format as well as on CD. Over time, The Last Coat of Pink also became the name of the trio itself. Feeling the need to return to their original inspiration, the group decided to release an LP featuring five tracks from their first successful album alongside four new reinterpretations from the historic English band’s repertoire, also celebrating the 60th anniverary of the founding of Pink Floyd. Three of the new recordings feature special guest Francesco Bearzatti on tenor sax and clarinet. He also overdubbed two tracks from the previous album: Is There Anybody Out There on the clarinet, and Hey You on the tenor sax. Of the eleven tracks included on the LP, six are therefore previously unreleased. Why should only vinyl enthusiasts be able to enjoy them? This question led to the creation of a new EP — currently available exclusively in digital format — conceived as a work in its own right: «The Last Coat of Pink – After». Among the four new pieces is a true gem, recorded by the trio alone: Incarceration of a Flower Child, composed in 1968 by Roger Waters for Syd Barrett shortly after he left Pink Floyd. The song resonates deeply, arriving 80 years after Barrett's birth and 20 years after his death, a fitting tribute to the musician's enduring legacy. The band itself never recorded the song. For decades its only incarnation was the version preserved on «Vagabond Ways», released by Marianne Faithfull in 1999. Twenty–seven years later, The Last Coat of Pink return to this forgotten fragment of the Barrett era, offering its own interpretation — no small achievement.
