We first met Lorenzo Bianchi Quota as the bassist for the Friulian rock band Fale Curte, who released two albums on another of our labels, Gutenberg Music. But Lorenzo is much more than that. Born in Padua, he moved from the province of Vicenza to Udine as a teenager, where he continued his musical studies, moving from electric guitar to keyboards and, above all, to synthesizers, both analogue and digital. This passion has never left him. While his professional activity, both in the studio and live, has seen him work mainly as a bass player, his interest in computer music, in the use of synthesizers, samplers and loops has merged with his interest in composition, aimed above all at soundtracks and music for images. "Solaris" captures an important point in his musical evolution, where the terms electronic and acoustic are no longer contrasting expressions but converge in a personal and interesting musical exploration that is difficult to categorise, but not far from Kraftwerk's electronic music.
