After an intense and profitable professional activity not only in jazz music, the double bass player Marco Vavassori, born in 1988 in Jesolo (Venezia), brilliantly faces his first album as a leader accompanied by experienced and authoritative travel companions, friends and almost peers. He wrote for the occasion eight original tunes and set up a quartet that might appear canonical if it were not for the presence of the clarinet of a surprising Michele Uliana. The imaginative and precise drums of Enrico Smiderle, who as the leader completed his training at the Conservatory of Rovigo, and the mature piano of Alberto Lincetto – who among all is the one with the largest number of recordings – contribute by themselves to embellish the beautiful and varied compositions of Vavassori. Even when the most common styles of modal jazz and blues, modern bop and ballad are used, the music always appears fresh and never banal, able to capture our attention. This happens in all eight tracks of "Walking with Bob", from the opening Hocking, lyrical and dreamy, to the hypnotic and dancing Francesco’s Smile, which closes the album with a wave of contagious joy.
