Chissà, forse sarà accaduto anche a voi... di avere avuto un vero amico, un compagno di viaggio fidato con cui avete condiviso lo stesso percorso di vita, qualcuno che credevate di conoscere bene, poi... qualcosa di nuovo di lui vi cattura, qualcosa che non conoscevate e che vi sorprende...
...e all’improvviso il mutare del suo animo si rivela, mostrandovi il suo nuovo divenire.
Ecco, questo è proprio ciò che è accaduto tra me e Raffaele Califano.
Ascoltare la sua musica mi ha rivelato le sue grandi doti ed il livello della sua competenza artistica.
Raffaele padroneggia una così vasta gamma di stili musicali che credo si possa senza dubbio definirlo un “musicista di grande esperienza”. Ha personalmente scritto, arrangiato, eseguito e prodotto la sua musica. Abbiamo qui il privilegio di ascoltare le sue emozioni musicali, frutto di una vita vissuta per arricchire il nostro animo.
E’ accompagnato da musicisti che sanno trasmettere il suo messaggio con naturalezza e con grande successo, la loro empatia è un piacere da condividere.
Il fraseggio, le idee ed il sostegno reciproco trasmettono il loro impegno a diffondere l’amore per la propria arte, sia tra di loro sia verso di noi, gli ascoltatori. Siamo i loro ospiti: benvenuti alla festa!
Non c’è nulla nella sua musica che non sia da apprezzare!
Il tocco veloce e travolgente, lento e riflessivo, profondo e immediato …
Difficile saperlo…
Mi auguro che anche voi sappiate aprire il vostro animo alla sua musica per consentirle di raggiungervi…..è qui perché voi possiate apprezzarla.

Maybe this has happened to you over the years… you have been friends
or at least solid travelers on the same path with someone, and you
believe you know this fellow traveler but… then a new piece of
information reaches out and grabs you …and presto you have a new found
appreciation for who they are and also who they have become.

Well, this has happened to me with Raffaele Califano.

His recording has opened my ears to the breadth of his expertise and
experience to new heights.

He demonstrates such a broad spectrum of styles and musical range that
it is best for me to refer to him as a consumate musician. He has
written, arranged, performed and produced all of this. We are
privileged to be hearing what feels like the fruits of a life lived to
enrich us.

He has surrounded himself with musicians who carry out his message
with ease and extraordinary success. The interaction between them all
is a joy to experience. The phrasing, ideas and the support of one
another all point to their being committed to extend the depth of
their love of their craft, to each other and to us the listeners. We
are their guests, welcome to the festivities!

What parts of this feast can you not savor?

The fast and furious, the slow and reflective, the grooving and direct…
