Eddy Marcano's recording project is dedicated to the music of composer Aldemaro Romero, creator of the genre of the same name, «Onda Nueva». This music was born from the fusion of several popular Venezuelan genres, such as passaje and joropo, with influences from more recent styles, such as jazz and bossanova. In this album the violinist collaborates with leading musicians on the international scene, from pianist Baden Goyo, musical director and arranger of the project, to percussionist Juan Pablo Romero or bassist Freddy Adrian, plus some special guests such as Juan Diego Villalobos, vibraphone, Hector Molina, Venezuelan cuatro, Pacho Flores, trumpet, and the great Paquito D'Rivera, clarinet. Eddy Marcano is one of the greatest Venezuelan violinists and conductors, recognised as one of the leading exponents of the instrument in the whole continent. As an instrumentalist, he is first violinist of the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra. As a soloist he has performed with the most important orchestras in the country, receiving the highest accolades. He has participated in international festivals in practically all of Latin America as well as in Germany, Spain, the United States and London. He lived one of the most important moments of his career when Maestro Sergio Bernal composed a concerto for violin and orchestra especially for him.
