Il nuovo album di Lillo Quaratino, terza produzione conseguente ai due precedenti dischi (Fado Meridiano e Parole inutili - AlfaMusic) con la partecipazione di grandi musicisti della scena internazionale: Javier Girotto, Gabriele Mirabassi, Davide Grottelli, Roberto "Red" Rossi, e dei due noti musicisti brasiliani Roberto ed Eduard Taufic.

Ormai è diventata una imprescindibile modalità di lavoro: quando registro un mio progetto discografico, cerco un luogo lontano dalla città. Cosicché la vita scorre meno frenetica e ogni volta sento crescere un senso di condivisione del progetto fra i musicisti, al punto che i brani sembrano scritti da loro. I musicisti, da anni sempre gli stessi e diventati buoni amici, sanno che vivremo di nuovo giornate impegnative e belle. Una volta in sala, suono al pianoforte il brano scelto per la registrazione e condivido con i compagni lo spirito della canzone; spartiti sul leggio, si inizia a suonare; ci si ferma due o tre volte per mettere a punto qualche passaggio del tema o di alcune particolarità ritmiche e alla terza o quarta si arriva alla fine del brano. A quel punto siamo pronti per registrare. Ed ecco la magia dei suoni. Voci in armonia come fossero scritte o suggerite dagli armonici. Tratteniamo il fiato, buona la prima take! che spesso termina con una risata o un sospiro profondo per scaricare la tensione.

Ogni volta è un’esperienza che mi riempie e poi mi svuota, come sa bene chi l’ha provata.

By now, the way I work on my projects is undiscussed: every time I do a recording, I look for a place far from the city. This way, life seems to be less chaotic and I feel a sense of project co-sharing among the musicians, to the point where it seems that the songs have been written by them. The musicians involved, always the same and good friends by now, know that we are going to experience challenging and beautiful days again. Once in the recording room, I play the chosen song on the piano and I share with my companions its spirit. Music sheets on the stand, we begin to play. We stop two or three times to focus on some details of the theme or on some rhythmic peculiarities until we arrive at the end of the song. By that time, we are ready to record. Here comes the magic of sound. Voices in harmony as if they had been written or suggested by the harmonics themselves. We hold our breaths - the first take is good! Which often ends with a laugh or a deep breath to unwind. Each time this experience fills me up and empties me out at the same time, as people who have felt it know well.
