Spesso, e non in musica, si rileva una sproporzione tra l’abilità di vendere se stessi e le reali capacità artistiche o professionali.                                                                                          Parmegiani è di quelli che non si sanno vendere ma sanno suonare. E molto bene. Chitarrista raffinato, è nella musica da più di vent’anni, di cui quasi sette a New York, dove si è diplomato al Mannas College of Music (attualmente New School) con musicisti come Jim Hall e John Scofield nel corpo insegnati. La sua riservatezza e la sua tendenza al perfezionismo lo hanno portato a realizzare finora soltanto quattro dischi (tre come leader), tra i quali quest’ultimo rappresenta sicuramente una prova di maturità e raffinatezza. Parmegiani sa molto bene come combinare tra loro le blue notes, sperimentando accordi e armonie complicate senza mai però scadere nell’autoreferenzialità. Nel disco si respira una atmosfera bluesy, notturna, a tratti rarefatta, con momenti di grande energia swingante (The End Of A Love Affair). Un lavoro brillante che ondeggia tra rilassatezza e tensione, con un grande contributo di Partipilo.                                                                              Musica Jazz – Nicola Gaeta

 Often in music, it’s possible to notice a disproportion between the capability of selling oneselfand the real artistic and professionals skills. Alberto Parmegiani does not know how to sell  himself properly but he knows how to play. Alberto Parmegiani, refined guitarist, has been within the music scene for longer than 25 years, seven of which in NewYork where he studied and graduated at the Mannas College of Music ( now New School) and had the opportunity to attend courses with teachers such as Jim Hall and and John Scofield. His reserved nature together with his search for perfectionism only allowed him to realize 4 records as a leader, among which this last one entitled “Under A Shimmery Grace” represents a proof of expressive maturity and stylistic elegance.Alberto Parmegiani knows well how to combine together the blue notes, experimenting chords and complicated harmonies without ever being self-referential.Listening to the album one can breath a bluesy  nocturnal atmosphere, sometimes rarefied, together with great energy and swinging feel. A brilliant record that moves between laxity and tension.
