Il progetto 'Driade' nasce nel 2023 dall'esigenza di dar voce al mondo più introspettivo e intimo della cantante, Sonia Ziccardi. Prevede, infatti, composizioni e arrangiamenti originali, nati in situazioni che le hanno concesso di lasciarsi sorprendere da melodie e armonie che i brani, di natura contemporanea e di impronta jazzistica, le suggerivano con insistenza. In queste circostanze, si è presentata la necessità di “mettersi a nudo”, accettando le carezze e le cicatrici della vita. Driade ha in sé insito il concetto diadico madre – figlio, in cui il figlio e la madre coincidono, e la figura mitologica della driade: la ninfa dei faggi, che incarna la forza e il rigoglio. Secondo questa prospettiva, le composizioni richiamano il senso di appartenenza e di rispetto verso le proprie radici.

The 'Driade' project was born in 2023 from the need to give voice to the more introspective and intimate world of singer Sonia Ziccardi. It features original compositions and arrangements, born in situations that allowed her to be surprised by the melodies and harmonies that the contemporary, jazz-influenced songs insistently suggested. In these circumstances, the need arose to "lay bare," accepting life's caresses and scars. Driade embodies the concept of mother-son dyadic union, in which the son and the mother coincide, and the mythological figure of the dryad: the beech nymph who embodies strength and flourishing. From this perspective, the compositions evoke a sense of belonging and respect for one's roots.
