All three members of HackOut! – a bass less trio that was established in 2019 within the walls of Rovigo Conservatory of Music – are really young, but already renowned and appreciated in our local jazz scene. Guitarist Luca Zennaro was born in Chioggia and at twenty-six years old has already made three albums as a leader (all released through Caligola), while altosaxophonist Manuel Caliumi and drummer Riccardo Cocetti hail from the province of Modena. Four years after its debut album «Cedrus Libani», released through the English label Slam, and almost two years later «Sad Music for Happy Elevators», recorded live for our label, he trio decided to record its new album in a studio. «Cortado» is a work fully created during their artistic residence at the Italian institute of culture of Madrid. The title track has a hyopnotic melody that emerges many times during the album, it develops as a ramshackled and lyrical suite. The compositions are mostly an ensemble work (five out of nine): it is the most deeply collective album of HackOut! trio. It will be an intense, mean album: the umpteenth important step forward of a band that has all the intention to make its mark in the Italian jazz scene.
