“The G-Session” (Luigi Masciari, Aaron Parks, Roberto Giaquinto), titolo preso in prestito dall’ omonimo studio di Brooklyn che ha fatto da cornice a quest’ultimo lavoro di Luigi Masciari come band leader, accompagnato per l’occasione da due autentici fuoriclasse. Sonorita’ care al Jazz newyorchese senza mai perdere di vista l’originalita’, caratteristica che contraddistingue Masciari come eclettico e ispirato compositore, un mix di groove e intensi momenti melodici.

Luigi Masciari chitarrista e compositore, è docente di chitarra jazz in diversi conservatori italiani, ha all’attivo diversi dischi,sia a proprio nome che come sideman, si esibisce regolarmente con diverse formazioni collaborando sia stabilmente che occasionalmente con artisti di spicco del panorama jazzistico nazionale ed internazionale.(Danilo Rea, Paolo Damiani, Aaron Parks, Paul Mc-Candless, Javier Girotto, Rosario Giuliani, Francesco Bearzatti, ed altri). L’intensa attività compositiva e di live per- formance degli ultimi anni gli fruttano l’attribuzione di numerosi premi e riconoscimenti, tra cui il prestigioso premio internazionale statunitense “ Betty Carter jazz ahead for performes and composers”. In tale occasione ha l’opportunità non solo di esibirsi sul palcoscenico del kennedy center di Washington D.C. ma anche di presentare tra l’altro sue composizioni originali.

CD Album “The G-Session” (Luigi Masciari, Aaron Parks, Roberto Giaquinto). The title is borrowed from the homonymous recording studio of Brooklyn, which was the last setting of Masciari as a band leader. “The G-Session” is a musical performance realized together with two outstanding musicians. It is an impressive composition of warmth, vibration and sound very dear to the New York Jazz music but still original, an important feature which makes Masciari stand out as an eclectic and inspired composer, whose musical language is a mix of groove and melodic moments.

Luigi Masciari guitar player and composer, he starts showing interest in music at the age of six. After experiencing different types of music, his attention turns to jazz and in 1996 he undertakes a specific training course, initiating in parallel a professional and artistic activity. He starts studying the jazz guitar with Umberto Fiorentino and deepens the “language” attending assiduously the music laboratory directed by Gianluigi Goglia. He obtains the diploma in “Jazz Arrangement and Composing” at S. Cecilia Music Academy in Rome, guided by M° Paolo Damiani, with whom he initiates a precious music collaboration realizing various recordings and endless live concerts. During the period at S. Cecilia Academy, first as a student and then as a teacher, he also had the opportunity to study and work, both in the recording room and live, with the outstanding pianist Danilo Rea with whom he created an important experience of didactic cooperation in the Academy. The intense composing activity and live performances attributed him various prizes and recognitions, including the prestigious American international prize “Betty Carter Jazz Ahead for Performers and Composers”. On such occasion he has the opportunity not only to perform on the stage of the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.,but also to introduce his original compositions. He is currently jazz guitar teacher in many Italian conservatories and has made many records, both as band leader and as sideman. He performs regularly or occasionally with leading artists in the national and international jazz field.
