“Somewhere In My Mind” is the third album of unreleased songs by Luigi Masciari, a distinguished guitarist and composer who has a long collaboration with Tosky Records (“Noise In The Box”, “The G-Session”, “Gone“). The original tracks, with a jazz “core”, move across an eclectic and innovative sound territory that embraces both acoustic and electronic language, creating an avant-garde and experimental sound space, yet akin to the song form typical of jazz and pop. The participation of Jason Lindner on keyboards, a world-renowned musician who has prestigious musical collaborations all over the world, and Roberto Giaquinto, a drummer and composer of great talent and sensitivity, give a unique sound to the flow of the music. Jazz-matrix compositions mingle with atmospheres clearly derived from Funk, Rock, and Popular, breaking canons and displaying increasingly unexpected musical ideas.The incredible chemistry established among the artists, alive and pulsating in the improvisations, even in the articulated “loops”, is a genius device that harmoniously binds distant stylistic worlds, allowing the three musicians to fly free among the architectures of the compositions.

Guitarist and composer Luigi Masciari has collaborated live and in the studio with some of the most prestigious names on the national and international jazz scene. With several albums to his credit, he has recorded, among many others, with Aaron Parks (The G-Session), Micheal League (Viva de André), Jason Lindner (Somewhere in my Mind), Danilo Rea (Emoticons, Nosferatu) Paolo Damiani (Pane e Tempesta, Classiche Musiche Leggere), Alfredo Paixão (Firts Name Oona), Francesco Bearzatti (“Noise in the Box”). Born in Naples on august 1977, He graduated in Jazz Guitar at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory of Music under the guidance of Professors Paolo Damiani and Danilo Rea, with whom he immediately started a close musical collaboration. Masciari is the winner of the prestigious US award “Betty Carter’s Jazz Ahead for performers and composers”, Washington D.C “, 2007, awarded to him by legendary musicians such as Curtis Fuller and Dr. Billy Taylor. As band leader or sidemand, He has performed in many festival and concert halls such as Kennedy Center Washington DC, Festival Les Rendez-vous de l’Erdre Nantes, Mancinelli Theatre for Umbria Jazz Festival, Auditorium Parco della Musica Rome, Blue note Milan. Based in Rome, Masciari is also the arranger and musical director of the project Viva De André, narrated by Luigi Viva, which has included significant collaborations, with Giulio Carmassi (Pat Metheny Unity Group), Michael League (leader of Snarky Puppy) and David Blamires (Pat Metheny Group). He holds the chair of Jazz Guitar at the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory in Florence.
