“Niue” è il titolo del nuovo video dei Satoyama che anticipa “Sinking Islands”, il quarto album della band piemontese in uscita il primo di aprile per Auand Records.

Ancora una volta i Satoyama raccontano le urgenze del nostro pianeta, da sempre al centro della loro musica e del loro impegno. Lo fanno attraverso il linguaggio dell’immaginazione, un wanderlust evocativo che narra di un ipnotico amore per la sabbia e per le onde del mare.

“Sinking Islands”, come ci dice il titolo, ci parla dell’innalzamento del livello dei mari e del destino che accomunerà luoghi lontani e poco conosciuti insieme a città e grandi metropoli.

Ogni brano del disco porta il nome di una realtà che affonderà se non si applicano cambiamenti repentini: Tuvalu, Palau, Kiribati ma anche la più familiare Venezia.

E’ lo spirito dei sognatori che parla dritto all’anima.

E’ lo sguardo delle anime che non si arrendono alla corrente apatica e immobile della società che ci vuole sdraiati e immutati di fronte al climate change.

E’ un disco che invoca un racconto di romantico rincontro tra la natura e l’uomo nella sua espressione migliore e più alta: la bellezza.

Il nuovo album prosegue il cammino intrapreso dal precedente “Magic Forest”, ottimamente accolto dalla critica ed incluso tra i migliori 100 dischi dell’anno dalla rivista JAZZIT, e dal progetto “Build a Forest” che attraverso il primo tour ad impatto zero li ha portati, grazie al supporto di Siae, Mibact e Fano Jazz Network, a suonare lungo tutta la Russia promuovendo un nuovo modo di vivere la musica ed il lavoro dell’artista. Una straordinaria esperienza da cui è stato creato il docu-film “Rails”.

Ogni concerto dei Satoyama, aiuta a finanziare un progetto di sostenibilità. Una scelta concreta che mira a costruire, attraverso la musica, un mondo più equo e sostenibile.

Satoyama are back – and they point out the most pressing needs of Planet Earth, always at the heart of their music and personal commitment. As usual, they do so by using the language of imagination: an evocative wanderlust narrating the hypnotic love for sand and sea waves.

The album title, “Sinking Islands”, hints at the sea-level rise and the common destiny of obscure, far-away towns and large cities. Each track title refers to a place that will sink if nothing will change soon: Tuvalu, Palau, Kiribati as well as Venice.

It’s the spirit of the dreamers that speaks to the soul.

It’s the look of the souls who don’t succumb to this indifferent, stagnant society that wants us to remain passive and feel unaffected by climate change.

It’s a recording that evoques the romantic rendezvous between nature and humankind through their best and most noble manifestation: beauty.

The new album follows up on the path of “Magic Forest” – their previous recording, critically acclaimed and listed among the 100 albums of the year by Italian magazine JAZZIT – and the “Build a Forest” project, which took them to perform in Russia on their zero-impact tour supported by Siae, Mibact and Fano Jazz Network. It promoted a new approach to experiencing music and artists’ work, and inspired the documentary film “Rails”. Each Satoyama live performance helps support a sustainable project: a tangible choice that aims at building a more equal and sustainable world through music.
