Prodotto da Dodicilune con il contributo di NuovoImaie, distribuito in Italia e all’estero da Ird e nei principali store online da Believe DIgital, mercoledì 28 gennaio 2026 esce “Bazrima“, il nuovo CD del duo composto dal pianista e compositore milanese Andrea Goretti e dalla vocalist, compositrice e autrice di origini israeliane, da molti anni di stanza a Brooklyn (NY), Sivan Arbel. Un incontro tra esperienze e stili differenti, tra composizione ed improvvisazione, che confluisce in un repertorio totalmente originale di grande interplay e coesione firmato da entrambi gli artisti, con influenze che spaziano dal jazz americano ed europeo alla musica indiana, africana e brasiliana. Tutti i testi sono firmati da Sivan Arbel. Nato nel 2023, il duo ha all’attivo numerose esibizioni in Italia, Cipro, Malta e Austria.

Bazrima significa “flusso” in ebraico, una parola che rispecchia il naturale scambio tra Arbel e Goretti mentre si muovono fluidamente tra composizione e improvvisazione. Queste canzoni danno spazio alle tensioni e alla tenerezza della vita contemporanea, riconoscendone le ombre ma tendendo verso l'unità e la completezza. La musica diventa un'offerta gentile. Una preghiera di resa a se stessi, agli altri e al mondo che ci circonda.

• COMMENTO AI BRANI
The Void. Il brano esplora la natura incessante della vita contemporanea, in cui l’intrattenimento costante e le infinite distrazioni rendono quasi impossibile il semplice atto di annoiarsi. Il brano apre (“part I”) con un’atmosfera onirica che immagina come sarebbe vivere al di là della distrazione. Nella seconda parte (“part II”), ispirata al raga indiano Gujari Todi, la musica si trasforma in un’energia impetuosa e frenetica.
Ocean song. Il brano è ispirato alla vastità dell’Oceano, e al dolce e spontaneo perdersi dei pensieri davanti alla tranquilla vastità delle acque. Emozioni e memorie affiorano dal subconscio senza un apparente ordine logico, riportandoci a esperienze passate immerse in un eterno presente.
Between Us, The Sky. Il brano è una ballad che affonda le proprie radici nella tradizione jazzistica. Il testo esprime come siamo tutti parte di uno stesso ecosistema, con destini intrecciati, sorvegliati dall’identico sole e dalla medesima luna. E’ un inno all’empatia e alla riflessione, nate dalla consapevolezza che respiriamo tutti la stessa aria.
Adama Ayefa. Il testo di “Adama ayefa” trae ispirazione dalla complicata situazione del Medio Oriente. Nata e cresciuta in Israele, Arbel ha potuto toccare con mano come quella terra, e le persone che ci vivono, siano stremate dal vivere in un costante stato di incertezza per la propria sopravvivenza. Le parole evocano la bellezza di questa terra – le palme da dattero, i paesaggi, il suo spirito millenario – e al tempo stesso si fanno preghiera di pace.
Mantra. “I surrender and love appears” (“mi abbandono e appare l’amore”). Questo mantra dal carattere pentatonico è un invito a lasciare andare il giudizio di sé e a riscoprire l’autenticità. Nel momento in cui ci abbandoniamo, possiamo sperimentare l’amore per noi stessi e la bellezza dell’essere pienamente ciò che siamo.
Perpetuum Mobile. È il termine latino per il moto perpetuo, ossia l’idea di un sistema meccanico capace di muoversi all’infinito senza sosta. Pur essendo impossibile da realizzare, il concetto di un moto eterno continua ad affascinare l’immaginazione dell’essere umano. La composizione si ispira a questa idea: un bordone in 6/8 al basso evoca il movimento costante. Questo si intreccia poliritmicamente con un pattern ritmico in 15/4 e uno spunto melodico in 4/4, sfociando nell’improvvisazione.
Angel’s Light. La composizione, in forma di corale, si sviluppa in modo spontaneo, con un carattere meditativo ed espressivo. La luce degli angeli, che ci illumina dall’alto, attraversa e pervade tutta la nostra esistenza.
The World of the End. Il brano, ispirato all’omonimo romanzo di Ofir Touché Gafla, esplora i vari cicli della vita e dell’aldilà. È un invito a riflettere sul proprio percorso terreno e sui cambi di direzione che inevitabilmente segnano le nostre esistenze.
Ballada. Il brano accompagna l’ascoltatore nei misteri della quiete invernale. Gli alberi spogli, la foschia del mattino e il sole tenue delle poche ore di luce compongono un paesaggio che enfatizza il desiderio della presenza di una persona amata.

Produced by Dodicilune with the contribution of NuovoImaie, distributed in Italy and abroad by Ird and in major online stores by Believe Digital, Wednesday, January 28, 2026 sees the release of “Bazrima,” the new CD by the duo composed of Milanese pianist and composer Andrea Goretti and Israeli-born vocalist, composer, and author Sivan Arbel, based in Brooklyn, NY, since many years, Sivan Arbel.
A meeting of different experiences and styles, between composition and improvisation, that converges in a totally original repertoire of great interplay and cohesion signed by both artists, with influences ranging from American and European jazz to Indian, African, and Brazilian music. All lyrics are written by Sivan Arbel. Formed in 2023, the duo has performed numerous times in Italy, Cyprus, Malta, and Austria.

Bazrima means “flow” in Hebrew, a word that mirrors the natural exchange between Arbel and Goretti as they move fluidly between composition and improvisation. These songs hold space for the tensions and tenderness of contemporary life, acknowledging its shadows while leaning toward unity and wholeness. The music becomes a gentle offering. A prayer of surrender to the self, to each other, and to the world around us.

• COMMENTS ON COMPOSITIONS
The Void. The song explores the relentless nature of contemporary life, in which constant entertainment and endless distractions make it almost impossible to simply be bored. The song opens (“part I”) with a dreamlike atmosphere that imagines what it would be like to live beyond distraction. In the second part (“part II”), inspired by the Indian raga Gujari Todi, the music transforms into an impetuous and frenetic energy.
Ocean song. The song is inspired by the vastness of the ocean and the sweet and spontaneous loss of thoughts in front of the tranquil vastness of the waters. Emotions and memories surface from the subconscious without any apparent logical order, taking us back to past experiences immersed in an eternal present.
Between Us, The Sky. The song is a ballad rooted in the jazz tradition. The lyrics express how we are all part of the same ecosystem, with intertwined destinies, watched over by the same sun and the same moon. It is a hymn to empathy and reflection, born from the awareness that we all breathe the same air.
Adama Ayefa. The lyrics of “Adama ayefa” are inspired by the complicated situation in the Middle East. Born and raised in Israel, Arbel has seen firsthand how that land and the people who live there are exhausted by living in a constant state of uncertainty about their survival. The words evoke the beauty of this land—the date palms, the landscapes, its ancient spirit—and at the same time become a prayer for peace.
Mantra. “I surrender and love appears.” This pentatonic mantra is an invitation to let go of self-judgment and rediscover authenticity. When we surrender, we can experience love for ourselves and the beauty of being fully who we are.
Perpetuum Mobile. This is the Latin term for perpetual motion, i.e., the idea of a mechanical system capable of moving infinitely without stopping. Although impossible to achieve, the concept of eternal motion continues to fascinate the human imagination. The composition is inspired by this idea: a 6/8 drone in the bass evokes constant movement. This intertwines polyrhythmically with a 15/4 rhythmic pattern and a 4/4 melodic motif, leading to improvisation.    
Angel's Light. The composition, in choral form, develops spontaneously, with a meditative and expressive character. The light of the angels, which illuminates us from above, permeates our entire existence.
The World of the End. Inspired by the novel of the same name by Ofir Touché Gafla, the piece explores the various cycles of life and the afterlife. It is an invitation to reflect on one's earthly journey and the changes of direction that inevitably mark our lives.
Ballada. The piece accompanies the listener into the mysteries of winter tranquility. The bare trees, the morning mist, and the soft sun of the few hours of daylight compose a landscape that emphasizes the desire for the presence of a loved one.

• BIO
Andrea Goretti si è diplomato in pianoforte classico e successivamente in pianoforte jazz. Ha all'attivo due dischi in piano solo con musiche originali, improvvisazioni e rielaborazioni di musiche degli anni '20, e un disco in trio con sassofono (Gabriele Fava) e batteria (Giacomo Ganzerli) con suoi brani originali. Si impegna in svariati progetti musicali: duo con la cantante newyorkese Sivan Arbel, sonorizzazioni di film muti e proiezioni di fotografie (Giornate del Cinema Muto – Teatro Verdi di Pordenone, Il jazz italiano per l'Aquila), conduction dirette da Roberto Bonati (Teatro Regio di Parma, pubblicato per Parma Frontiere Jazz), spettacolo sperimentale di teatro musicale, musica per danza contemporanea, festival internazionali di improvvisazione radicale, esecuzione e registrazione di musiche del compositore Stefano Gueresi. Si è esibito per Met Jazz, Porgy and Bess Vienna, Associazione 4’33’’, Miles Smiles Wien, Fara Music Festival, Sarah’s Jazz Club, Parma Frontiere Jazz.
Andrea Goretti graduated in classical piano and later in jazz piano. He has released two solo piano albums featuring original music, improvisations, and reworkings of music from the 1920s, as well as a trio album with saxophone (Gabriele Fava) and drums (Giacomo Ganzerli) featuring his original compositions. He is involved in various musical projects: a duo with New York singer Sivan Arbel, soundtracks for silent films and photography exhibitions (Giornate del Cinema Muto – Teatro Verdi in Pordenone, Italian Jazz for L'Aquila), conductions directed by Roberto Bonati (Teatro Regio in Parma, published by Parma Frontiere Jazz), experimental musical theater performances, music for contemporary dance, international radical improvisation festivals, and the performance and recording of music by composer Stefano Gueresi. He has performed for Met Jazz, Porgy and Bess Vienna, Associazione 4'33'' , Miles Smiles Wien, Fara Music Festival, Sarah's Jazz Club, Parma Frontiere Jazz. 

Sivan Arbel è una vocalist, compositrice e arrangiatrice di origine israeliana, da parecchi anni di stanza a Brooklyn (NY). Il suo lavoro unisce il jazz alle influenze musicali da varie parti del mondo, e alla danza. Il suo ultimo lavoro discografico, Oneness (2024), esprime la sua visione di guarigione e pace universale, espressa tramite ritmi trascinanti, improvvisazione, e testi pregnanti. E’ una performer coinvolgente, che cattura l’attenzione del pubblico col suo suono distintivo e una presenza scenica spesso arricchita dall’uso di piccole percussioni. Ha partecipato a diversi festival e suonato in location internazionali, quali la Carnegie Hall e il Minsk Jazz Festival, collaborando anche con artisti del calibro di Ravi Coltrane e Samir Langus.
Sivan Arbel is an acclaimed Israeli vocalist, composer, and arranger whose work blends jazz, global influences, and expressive movement. Her latest album, Oneness (2024), embodies her vision of unity and healing through powerful rhythm, improvisation, and heartfelt storytelling. A vibrant performer, she has appeared at major festivals and venues worldwide—including Carnegie Hall and the Minsk Jazz Festival—and collaborated with artists such as Samir Langus and Ravi Coltrane, captivating audiences with her distinctive sound and dynamic stage presence.
